Gorakhpur: In a major boost to Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy and industrial growth story, Gorakhpur-based Northernexpress Infradevelopers Pvt. Ltd. has secured a prestigious 20 MW floating solar project at Mahesra Tal (Chilua Tal). The project, valued at nearly ₹115 crore, was awarded by Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal after a competitive bidding process involving 25 companies from across the country.
Out of the participating firms, 17 qualified technically and financially, with Northernexpress emerging successful after the final financial evaluation held on May 25, 2026. The project is expected to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy ecosystem while positioning Gorakhpur prominently on India’s infrastructure map.
The company had earlier successfully executed the Chilua Tal dredging project for HURL under WAPCOS supervision. Led by Managing Director Nitish Tripathi, the firm’s latest achievement reflects the growing role of regional enterprises in national infrastructure and green energy development.
